FAQs about hybrid car battery replacement
Hybrid cars are becoming a more and more common sight on our roads in Singapore. With their gorgeous electronic gauges and quiet engines, it is no surprise that more and more people are switching to hybrid cars. Their good fuel efficiency and the higher petrol prices observed at the pump stations also mean usage savings enjoyed for our wallets.
The electric motors accelerate efficiently and create maximum power when starting from a standstill. To travel vast distances, these batteries must of course be in top working conditions. We hope to help you understand more about hybrid batteries in this write up.
Do Hybrid batteries have expiry dates?
Car batteries have entropy dates. Batteries are mined, purified, constructed, installed in cars, and then, like any of our equipment, after a long life span, stop working. It may take many years and hundreds of thousands of kilometers, but eventually, they will fail, and you will need to replace them.
How Often Do I Replace My Hybrid Battery?
Even though hybrids have been around for over two decades, evidence of their failure is limited. Most manufacturers suggest 150,000-250,000 km if this is maintained well.
Do Hybrid Cars Need More Upkeep?
No, they do not. A hybrid only requires additional maintenance if the battery pack malfunctions, which is unusual.
What sets fresh batteries apart from remanufactured ones?
All-new battery packs are factory original. Remanufactured batteries offer 80-90 percent of the capacity, power, and energy of new batteries.
Is it true that batteries are as expensive as cars?
No, this is not true. Many early scare tales warned of faulty batteries and $10,000 battery expenditures within a year of buying a new car. Today's hybrid battery is not cheap, but it would not break the bank. Depending on the car model, this ranges ~$1,000 and above. Furthermore, used batteries also have a strong market.
