Tyre Maintenance
With typically long distances covered on the road, the tyres of a van require more frequent checks compred to cars. Vans also usually carry goods, which can be heavy and put more load on the tyres. As such, weekly checks on the tyre pressure to ensure adequate pressure is important, as otherwise the tyres will wear out more quickly.
02
Check Under the Bonnet
Check the essentials under the van bonnet every week. These include coolant levels, engine oil, along with brake and transmission fliud levels so that any necessary top ups would be timely.
03
Check the Lights
This is one of the most important things that should be functioning in proper condition, and also to be in line with our Singapore laws. If you spot dirt on the light, make sure to clean it as well. Dirt-free and clean lights will help in improving visibility during the night. Check if all the bulbs of the van are functioning properly. Include indicators as well in your checklist.
As part of safety precaution, to care for the goods in your van, the lock mechanism has to be in proper working order to prevent theft from arising. Do also check your lock function from time to time.
