Looking for tyre repair service?
Have you found you have a leaking tyre and are looking for tyre repair service? Has there been debris on the ground that you drove over, or have you unfortunately driven over a sharp object like a nail, causing your tire to be damaged in the process? Do you know that you would not necessarily need to replace your tyre with a new one, as this depends on the type and extent of damage, and our mechanics may instead be able to help you carry out a flat tyre repair.

Why an early tyre check is essential
When you encounter such a situation, it is essential that you have your car sent in for us to check as soon as possible. This is because the air pressure in the tyre is needed to support the weight of the car, and if quite a lot of air has leaked out, driving around for long with the tyre can cause irreparable damage:
- For instance, along the circumference of the inboard and the outboard sidewalls of the tire, there will be scuffing when the tyre is driven on low air pressure.
- If however, you have found no external visible damage, and yet you have a leaking tyre, it could be that your tyre has other issues such as a valve stem damage.

What is the tyre repairable area
In determining whether we can carry out a flat tyre repair, we first check if the tyre puncture repair is within the tread area:
- If the puncture is outside of the tread area, at the shoulder or the sidewalls, it would not be safe to just repair the tyre.
- The extent of the damage also needs to be determined. The damage needs to be within a quarter of an inch in diameter.
- If there is more than one puncture spot, this also cannot overlap nor be so close that the repairs would overlap.
When carrying out the repairs, we would also carry out a more thorough examination on the damage on the tyre. When carrying out our checks, our mechanics would remove the tyre from the wheel assembly, to ensure that a thorough check has been carried out for any other hidden damages that would weaken your tyres. This is to ensure that your safety is well taken care of.

Flat tyre repair - patching or plugging?
When we carry out the repair, we would first use a plug to fill up the damage caused by the puncture. In order to seal up the inner liner properly, we would also use a patch, to properly stabilise the punctured tire. After the repair is completed, we would then fill up your tyre to the correct air pressure again and re-install this into the wheel assembly.
We would also be able to provide you with tyre re-balancing service if required. To pro-long your tyres life-span, it is also good if you regularly check on and top up your air pressure to the optimal level. Do check with us if you are unsure what this should be, so we can advise you, and you can then easily maintain the pressure and fill up at one of our many Singapore petrol stations.
